The Dave Logar Memorial 5K was created to keep the spirit of Dave with us and to
provide scholarships to students at Lenape who embodied everything that made
Dave so special. As the years went by, the Dave Logar Memorial 5K started to get
bigger and the fund started donating money to The Miami Project which is the
fundraising arm of the Buoniconti Fund for Paralysis Research. We continue to
support those two great causes, but in the past two years and moving forward,
the focus of the Dave Logar Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk is to help a local
family in the area that has a loved one dealing with paralysis and offering assistance
to them.
In 2010, the Dave Logar Memorial Run donated money to Paul Haynes
of Mt. Laurel, who was paralyzed in a freak ocean accident on July 18, 2009.
In 2011, the Dave Logar Memorial Run donated money to purchase a lift for Donald Street
of Hainesport who was paralyzed in a tree accident.
The Dave Logar Memorial Fund is currently looking for a family to sponsor for 2012. Please contact
us if you know a family who would benefit from this money to ease the costs associated with
living with paralysis.
